Amtrak California

These pictures were taken from my first train trip, the California Zephyr
from Chicago to Emeryville/San Francisco and back. This trip turned me into an
Amtrak fan.
I'm not thrilled with the image quality on these. They were taken with a small
Vivitar fixed-focus camera. I'm much happier with images I've been taking with the
Minolta Dimage7 digital camera, which I've been using since 2002.

While stopped in Sparks, Nevada I
took a few pictures of P-42 engine 60. I got to see this same engine again in Beech
Grove in 2001, with a new paint scheme. |
